In 2001, following a lifetime of service to the community of Partney, Miss TM Maddison was invested by HRH the Prince of Wales with Membership of the Most Noble Order of the British Empire. Margie has given a lifetime of service to Partney, from working the land during the War, to leading the replacement of the asbestos-condemned village hall with the now-indispensable Partney Victory Hall. She has always been involved with |

Music in the area, and even now makes a contribution to the Concerts which we hold. We love her, and would not do without her.
In June 2003, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, we heard that John Hudson, who plays so many different roles in the local community, had likewise been awarded an MBE. John’s service to the community is difficult to chart—he is Chairman of the Parish Council (Partney and Dalby with Dexthorpe), Chairman of the School Governors, Chairman of the Church Choir, Group Treasurer of the Partney Group of Churches, and Churchwarden of Partney St Nicholas’. He is a major part of the success of the Victory Hall, and organised both the Millennium and Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. He has also played a major role in the Spilsby Community, being President of the Show, and founder of the Spilsby Cinema, sadly no longer open. And he is a former Captain, Secretary and President, of the Lincolnshire Badminton Association. |

His citation reads: John Hudson is the cohesive force that holds the small communities around the Spilsby area together. His values of individual worth and self-reliance, of the potential of youth, and of duty in service make him an outstanding member, and leader, of our communities. The work which he carries out unstintingly, selflessly and without thought of recompense in any form, are deserving of our honouring. For Services to the Community of Spilsby, Lincolnshire We are proud of both of them, and look forward to future honours for them and other choir members. |
